Work is due to commence to upgrade the traffic signals at the junction of Common Edge Rd, Highfield Rd and Hawes Side Lane. This will cause severe disruption to both vehicles and pedestrians and you are asked to find an alternative route to school, if possible.  Weather permitting the work should be completed by the end of January.

Please note that whilst the work is in progress, the existing facilities for pedestrians (red and green man crossing signals) will be severely reduced and, at some stage of the work, the whole junction will be switched off for short periods of time.  I urge you to be extra vigilant.
